Jonny's Bio

Jonny Hirsch has established himself as one of New York's most exciting and upcoming solo artists. While packing venues like Webster Hall and Knitting Factory, Jonny's commanding stage presence and unique musical style is attracting a solid fan base and earning the respect and attention of New York City's concert goers and finest studio and live performance musicians.

After six months of competition, Jonny and his band advanced to the United States Finals of the 2006 Worldwide Emergenza Festival, placing in the Top 5 bands out of thousands across the country. In August of 2006, Jonny's saxophone composition and performance was featured on multi-platinum recording artist and Grammy Award winner DMX's album: YEAR OF THE DOG…'AGAIN'. The album went platinum and Jonny's song Blown Away is featured on radio stations across the world.

Fusing together elements of rock, funk, jazz, and skat singing with a powerful voice and a dynamic saxophone, the 26 year old singer/saxophone player is often compared to the likes of Maceo Parker, George Benson, and Lenny Kravitz. Jonny consistently performs in Manhattan clubs and throughout the Tri-State area with his band; a quartet comprised of vocals/alto saxophone, guitar, bass, drums with an ocassional guest piano and/or horn player(s).
